Crafty Kate

Content Creator • Promoter • Community Advocate

"Every car has a soul — I just help bring them all together."

When the engines rumble to life under the desert sun and chrome gleams against the blue California sky, one woman’s energy fuels it all — Crafty Kate, the dynamic promoter, racer, and community advocate driving the classic car scene forward across Ridgecrest, Inyokern and beyond.

Known affectionately to racers and fans as “Ms. Kate,” Crafty Kate has built her reputation not just behind the wheel, but behind the scenes — organizing, promoting, and elevating the events that celebrate the timeless beauty of American muscle. Her journey from model to drag racer to event promoter is a story of pure determination.

“I’ve always believed horsepower is just one part of the story. It’s the people, the history, and the heart that make this culture what it is.”

That mindset has made her a beloved figure across California’s desert valleys and classic car communities — a woman whose charisma, grit, and compassion are as powerful as the engines she celebrates. All the while supporting other racers, and donating to their causes.

Her signature event, the Classic Burgers Annual Car Show, began as a modest local gathering but has evolved into a regional phenomenon. Each spring, hundreds of polished classics and roaring customs fill the Inyokern air with the scent of gasoline and nostalgia. But this show is more than a spectacle — every dollar raised benefits the Ridgecrest Animal Shelter, a cause that sits at the center of Kate’s mission.

With the 2026 Classic Burgers Car Show scheduled for April 18
